Chancroid is a condition that men and women develop after having unprotected sex with an infected person. The bacteria from the infected person are transferred via oral, vaginal or anal sexual intercourse. The symptoms differ from men to women. Men usually start to see bumps on their penises or their scrotum. Women usually see bumps that turn to open sores on their labia, around their anus and on their thighs.
